I would just like to say what a brilliant experience it was to be taught by you. I feel very privileged to have gained entry to a whole new world of serious making. As I now spend time pending travel back home writing up and illustrating my notes I am left with no illusions as to the serious challenges that lie ahead in producing worthwhile results from my guitar making endeavours. Thanks to your tuition and guidance I feel as well equipped as I can be to work on developing my skills to the level required. All the best to you. Adam’s guitar building class was engaging and enjoyable. As a guitar player and aspiring luthier, I’ve always been curious to see the hidden inner workings of the instrument, as well as how the beautiful arches and joints come to be. I finally had the chance to see the build happen up close. Using my hands to contribute to some of the handiwork taught me that even the simple looking tasks require critical thought and refinement through practice.

Since then, I got to know about Adam’s class and got an insight into what makes a good sounding guitar. The overarching concept shared during Adam’s class, that is the most insightful to me, is the pursuit of the balance between flexibility and stiffness which can potentially produce a responsive guitar. As we go through this course, building with Adam's guitar design, you will be able to have a glimpse of this concept guiding some of his design choices from the unique reinforced sound-hole, to the stiffer back and sides, and to the top board and his unique set of braces.
